I was on Facebook when I stumbled upon the Lard Brother's page and as I was reading through their tracklist for their upcoming debut album, I saw the track "Radio Station" listed and immediately clicked on their myspace page. They had "Radio Station" on their page! It's a different version I must admit but still just as good.

For those out there too young to remember, "Radio Station" was one of the hits from now defunct The Padres. I remember as a teenager I saw Joe Ng and band in a music video and they were playing "Radio Station". The song was easy to remember but what I'd love most about the song is the chorus and sometimes, I sit on the bus and the song will pop into my head and I would sing out the chorus. Somehow, at this point of my life the lyrics make a hell out of sense now.

There are times when I truly resent my intuition. I wish I could shut it off and be absolutely ignorant and naive. Pretend it's a mistake and be genuinely honest about it. Sitting in the back of the cab, I could feel blood rushing to my head. A heaviness creeping into the back of my neck. The all too familiar "something wrong somewhere". And right on cue, it appeared.

I should have known, I should have known better. Unfortunately for me, I like lost causes. Gunning for another chance, going through all the lengths. Yet I crash and burn once again. This is getting old.

I've been feeling down the past week. Ben Folds's Not The Same on a constant loop in my iPod. Sometimes the simplest thing that you want can be the hardest thing you have to do. I find myself more plugged in into music more often these days.

It's like I'm blocking out what's going around me. I think I have enough on my hands to deal with other people's problems. Sometimes, I purposely jump into other people's problems. Giving them advice, a listening ear or words of comfort. God knows, I never get the same treatment when I'm down and out.

It's okay. I'm not looking for gratification. Maybe just a reassurance that someone would be there for me when I falter. Right now, I'm freefalling. I don't know if I'm going to even hit the ground. I swear if I didn't have my music plugged to my ears or if I weren't in Garagerobo, I'd go absolutely bonkers.

Thank god for the simplest things in life.

Garagerobo Version 3.0: A New Dawn

Today has to be hands down the best day/night out I have for a very long while. The day kicked off with my usual routine. Fell asleep for awhile. Woke up thinking I was late for the steamboat at One Fullerton. So flew out of the house and flagged down a cab only to find out that the steamboat was at 2 in the morning.

Hung around at the kiosk for awhile before Arab called me to meet him up in town. I left One Fullerton and here's where it gets interesting. I saw Papul walking alone with a beer can in his hand. I ran across the street and did a kung fu pose and was greeted with likewise bravado. Hilarious, I tell you. I haven't seen the dude in ages! Still the same old Papul. I updated him abit and was pleasantly surprised to hear he wanted to find a job in Starbucks. I had to rush off and meet Arab so I told to come down and meet me on New Year's Eve. I had a good vibe from the meeting so I think, at least for me this time he wants to clean up his act for good which is great, because he's easily one of the best drummers around and plus, he's someone I know for close to 20 years.

Met up with Arab and the Garagerobo boys. This is easily one of the best line up I ever have. And best of all, this time I am inspired, motivated and determined to make Garagerobo work. There is focus and just great vibes from all the guys. I have a great feeling about this and looking forward to Tuesday's jamming.

After chilling out with the boys at Al Majlis, I went over to One Fullerton for the steamboat. It was fun but most of the kids were leaving early so I plonked myself on a couch and irritated people. It's what I do best.

The boys came over so I left and joined them in Yan's car and we drove aimlessly from place to place. It was a great time to bond with the guys as friends and hopefully later on as a band. Plus it was great for me cause it's really been a long while since I've had this much fun even though some things are on the back of my mind.

I wish I could just say what I really wanted to say to you.

I got back early today. It was a long bus ride home in the all too familiar 97. I opened the front door to see my mom watching tv on the sofa and my dad fast asleep on the floor right in front of her. I noticed the venerable Ramli Sarip on television and he began to sing. I was taken aback when my mom began to sing too. She rarely sings! My dad usually does all the singing in the house. I was further taken aback by the lyrics of the song. It's like my mother knew my thoughts and how I was feeling at that moment.

Welcome. Again. This little getaway of mine had to go through a rebirth of sorts. Much has happened since this blog was alive. I haven't the energy nor the will to speak of what has happened. Frankly, I'm sick of talking about it. Hahaha. It's tiring. Really. Oh well, the reason why I decided to rejuvenate this lost blog is because I remember at this date I lost a dear friend. Someone I knew since childhood. He was my best friend and he had this mole on his chin which I will probably remember till the day I die. It's a year since his tragic death. I'd like to look back at memories of us when we were growing up and reminiscence fondly. I hope I can say the same to what happened to me this past year. For you my friend, I will never stop being who I am and I'll live my life as I wait to join you in the next one. I've decided to continue this blog in his memory as I live while he is gone. I'll put up pictures and videos but I'll write less as I feel words are empty if you cannot act upon it. Better to see a picture as a picture tells a thousand stories though it could also tell lies. How ironic.
